Meet the crew...

DJ BK (Bec) is one in a trillion! Our resident dancing queen who is always blamin' it on the boogie! Bec is also known as 'Sporty Spice' by the crew and her disco party games ideas have taken our parties to the next level. An absolute star on the DJ decks, BK will ​no doubt leave a lasting impression!

​DJ Matty V creates disco vibes in and out of the classroom. His students are always doing disco division, angles dance moves and lyrical linguistics! He has all the moves to get the kids up and bopping along in time. ​Fun fact... DJ MATTY V's favourite song is Firework by Katy Perry.

Michael (DJ Finna) takes the title for nicest DJ on the PLANET. DJ FInna or Mr DJ FINNA has taught nearly all year levels in primary schools, so crowd control is his specialty.  A school disco expert DJ FINNA has notched up over 200 + school discos.

Sam (Aka DJ Sam i Am) has years of experience entertaining kids. He is a big kid at heart and always the first to hit the dancefloor to carve it up with the little party rockers. He'll have everyone moving, grooving and shakin' it in no time!​ His claim to fame is he has played "Call Me Maybe" at every one of his discos!​

DJ Nate (Nathan) is KING of the KIDS!
As a Prep teacher, DJ Nate is world class at what he does in the classroom and how he can engage kids on the dance floor. 
​DJ Nate is never behind the decks for too long... out dancing with the kids is just way more fun! ​

Yazmine (DJ YAZ-Z) is an absolute superstar who brightens any room she dances into! Her energy is infectious and she is probably the smartest person we know! It takes DJ Yaz-Z under 60 seconds to complete two things - a Rubix Cube and create an absolute rockin dance floor!

DJ Lexi (Alex) is a netball superstar and DJ phenom! Goal Shooter by day and Disc Jockey by night, DJ Lexi knows how to get it done! Whether it's cutting shapes on the dance floor, breaking into a TikTok dance or dropping a perfectly timed crowd pleaser, DJ Lexi has got every party sorted! 

The Kids Disco Party Story

Trent Ray founded Kids Disco Parties in 2011 while teaching at Laburnum Primary School in Blackburn. ​Every year Trent (Aka Dj Ray Ray) would host the annual Junior School Disco sparking a curious parent to ask if he would like to entertain at his child’s birthday party. The rest is history and Trent soon found himself hosting discos most weekends as a prized kids entertainer. Word spread of the fun to be had, so over the past few years Trent enlisted his colleagues Sam Macaulay, Bec , Mat, Nathan, Tim, Michael and Alex to form the Kids Disco Parties crew. Our ever-growing crew of awesome DJs now host 100s of children's celebrations, events and school fundraisers all over Melbourne each year.

​We often get asked if we would ever quit teaching to do this full time. We say hell no – we love our day jobs as teachers too much. It is however a great excuse for us to channel our inner child and party like no-one is watching!
